This scholarship offers up to $8,500 for undergraduates and a small number of bursaries for master’s and Ph.D. students.
The program’s purpose is to make the University more accessible to people experiencing financial difficulties by augmenting existing financing sources such as government aid, Indigenous Band Support financing, part-time job, parental support, and other sources of finance.
McGill Scholarships provides a merit-based Entrance Scholarship Program and a need-based Entrance Bursary Program to all newly admitted, first-year, first-degree undergraduate students.

Criteria for McGill University Scholarships
Applicants for McGill University Scholarships must meet the following criteria:
- Proficiency in English language.
- All international countries are eligible
- Applicant must enroll in the University’s full-time degree program.
- Applicants must show proof of financial need, including a desire to apply for government student aid and/or Indigenous Band Support funding.
- They must apply for and accept the greatest amount of government student help that they are qualified for.
- They must maintain a satisfactory academic status.

How to Apply for McGill University International Scholarship
Please follow the following instructions to apply for McGill University Scholarships:
- To apply for the award, aspirants are needed to register in an undergraduate/Masters degree program at the university.
- International (non-US) students who wish to apply to the Entrance Bursary Program from the University must submit a CSS Profile in addition to the McGill Minerva aid application.
- Students may apply for In-course Financial Aid anytime during the academic year, as the need arises.
- Applications are always for the current academic year (September to August) and are available August of each year.
